@AlexTrovato
I have quite a few sockets and roller-shutter switches at my place, if you need a tester ![]()
I’m taking the opportunity to ask @Lokkye: do you have any Tuya hardware? ![]()
It might be more motivating to develop this integration if you have hardware available at home, and given the demand for this integration, I’m sure we could set up a fundraiser to buy you some hardware!
@pierre-gilles I haven’t been able to make much progress on this point. Work and health issues. I’m trying to work on it as soon as possible.
No worries, get well soon! ![]()
Do you have any equipment, or would you need Tuya devices?
Thanks ![]()
No, I don’t have any Tuya-brand gear. I wouldn’t say no to some test gear; it would make testing easier.
@Lokkye Totally!
To everyone who wants to see the Tuya integration, could someone organize a small fundraiser to buy a few devices for @Lokkye?
(or can someone send him a few unused devices?)
Hello everyone!
I’m bringing this topic up again — would anyone be interested in taking over this development?
The installation process for a Gladys development environment has been greatly simplified since then ![]()
On macOS/Linux:
On Windows:
I bought a Doowifi impulse relay compatible with Tuya. I currently use it with Smart Life.
What would be the development method for the module to make it usable with Gladys.
Kind regards Kevin
What’s your development background? ^^
Gladys is a Preact frontend (like React), a Node.js backend and an SQLite DB.
First, you need to set up a dev environment.
MacOS/Linux:
Windows:
Next, we have this tutorial:
I also did a live coding session once:
Don’t hesitate if you have any questions
Hi,
I’m interested, I have switches managed via Smart Life, I recently ordered an on/off module with power-consumption monitoring, a temperature and humidity sensor, and a smoke detector.
I’ve installed the development environment, I’m starting to read the docs and get reacquainted with Gladys v4.
I’m not sure I’ll have the skills (junior dev) but I’ll follow this closely.
What stack are you a dev on?
Everything can be learned! You just have to persevere and not give up!
Working on an open-source project is also great training; it can help you level up your skills ![]()
Don’t hesitate if you have any questions
Mainly Java/Spring/HTML/CSS/Microsoft SQL Server, web services (SOAP XML), a bit of JS.
But my courses and projects are still fairly recent, I continue to self-train/tinker out of curiosity (Android/Flutter/React) and I have a small web project in development (Symfony/PHP, React for the front-end, MySQL, Tailwind CSS…).
And yes, I’ve been thinking about open source for some time for my personal growth but also for others if possible ![]()
For now, I’ll read the docs, I’m starting to look at the project structure, what AlexTrovato started regarding Tuya, how the services are built, etc., and I’ll get back to you if needed with questions ![]()
Ok, if you’ve already worked with all those techs, even partially, that’s already a sign that you’re curious and that you learn quickly
I think that’s the important thing! Development isn’t learned, it’s practiced ![]()
Great! Don’t hesitate to create another topic in « Development » when you have questions.
@Lokkye Since you’re on fire right now, if you ever want any Tuya gear tell me, I can supply now that I have the SAS Gladys Assistant ![]()
There are sales on Domadoo: Tuya/Smart Life Sales
But be careful, with Tuya if you get Zigbee devices you need a Tuya bridge, I don’t know if they sell any at Domadoo.
On Wi-Fi I saw this plug for example: https://www.domadoo.fr/fr/peripheriques/5907-woox-prise-intelligente-wifi-16a-format-fr-8435350741525.html?domid=17
Hello,
If needed, I can work on it starting from the base set up by @AlexTrovato (great, by the way).
Everything is local on my machine for now.
Since I’m just starting out with Node/React/Gladys, I’m progressing slowly while drawing inspiration from other services. At worst, it helps me get a feel for things for maybe future developers on Gladys ![]()
Absolutely @Celoshalito, we always welcome help ![]()
Don’t hesitate if you have any questions, and don’t hesitate to give us quick progress updates here!
Hi @Celoshalito !
I’m checking in on this integration — have you been able to make progress with your development? Do you have any blockers?
Hello ! Will this service support robot vacuum cleaners :sl
Hello everyone !!
I’ve been following the project for a while … but I was eagerly waiting for the Tuya plugin integration to connect my Wi-Fi roller shutter switches… it’s finally here … I’m taking the plunge ![]()
@Celoshalito: do you have a repository where we could continue/test your integration so we can quickly add it to Gladys addons?
thanks in advance
FYI, I believe that @Lokkye has taken over development since
