Raspberry Pi shuts down for no reason

Hello,
I was working on node-red and suddenly the connection to the server dropped.
The Gladys dashboard froze and I couldn’t change it.
I can’t access it via SSH.

Config:
RPi 3 B+ with config migrated to SSD
SSD via USB on RPi
USB Hub with external power supply on RPi
Zwave Z-Stick Gen 5 dongle on Hub
DIY RfLink on Hub
Zigbee dongle on Hub

What should I do in this case?

hello

I had the same problem, solved by restarting the PI?
Same config raspi 3B+ and SD migration to USB SSD,
restart and wait a bit for the USB SSD boot on Rspi and a bit long
keep me posted

Pascal

Thanks @pascal_sapin,
That’s what I did but, to restart the pi, apart from unplugging and replugging, I don’t know anything less savage, and it’s not great at all.

What I would like to know is why Gladys froze.
Too high a CPU load?
If this happens and there is no one to « restart » it’s really not cool.

hello

I don’t think the SSD is too slow, it might be a power supply issue or a micro-cut, bad contact. I unplugged the power and reconnected it, normally there’s no risk. In case of a power outage, it would be the same. Try inserting an empty, formatted SD card as well, it speeds up the startup (I read it somewhere on the net).

One of the big problems is that every time I restart, my different keys (Z-Wave, RfLink…) are not necessarily on the same port and it makes everything crash.

My Z-Wave key was on ttyACM1, it just switched to ttyACM0 and this stopped my heating that I just put under Gladys via Node-RED.
I had to change the controller address in Node-RED and restart the container
The address is not recognized by Node-RED. I unplug and replug the key → ttyACM2
Restart the node_red container → ok. It’s a hassle!

Under Domoticz, I had made the port addresses persistent by using aliases and did not have this problem.
I don’t know if it’s possible to fix them in Gladys without using code lines.

There is this box with a power on/off button and a battery! Peace of mind guaranteed!

and substantial power supplies 48W

Interesting,
Have you tried?

Yes, with udev rules, we really need to find a compatible library

Gladys arrested since March 11…
Last message received on Telegram March 11, 8:30 PM.
I request a message « it’s ok! » to be sent every 6 hours…
I haven’t touched anything for a month…
It’s tiring…

Config:

Zigbee Dongle on Hub

Z-Wave Dongle Z-Stick Gen 5 on Hub unplugged a month ago to put it back on Domoticz

Gladys or the Raspberry?

The red light of the raspberry is on and the green one is flashing as usual, I think.
The light of the SSD is also flashing.
gladys inaccessible via SSH

If I want to change my raspberry (I have an unused pi 3B+), how can I easily migrate my current configuration which is on SSD?

Apart from the need to configure the boot of the ‹ new › RPi on SSD (with the RPi Imager tool), just put the SSD from the other one and off you go!
