Looking for a camera (not too expensive) that stores locally on a hard drive

Everything is in the title. I of course want to be able to use this camera in Gladys .

PS: I’m not sure I chose the right category.

Edit: I removed « wireless » from the title.

I can’t recommend a camera to you, but I doubt you’ll find one that records locally to a hard drive.
Either the camera records locally to an SD card (which is inside the camera), or you’ll have to use an NVR system to do local video recording.
Of course, that’s completely independent of Gladys, which will only show you the

It’s true that if I can’t see in Gladys what’s recorded on the SD card, such a camera will be useless!

At home I use a Tapo camera (Tapo C210; I have the impression it’s no longer sold and has been replaced by the Tapo C200C).

It’s very affordable (around €17) and overall it’s a good-quality camera that integrates well with Gladys. I have only two small criticisms:

  • No Ethernet port: it works only over Wi-Fi. In my case the camera is close to the router, so an Ethernet port would have been perfect.
  • No open local API (at least I couldn’t find one) to enable/disable the camera’s notifications. I like to enable notifications when I leave home, and I would have liked to automate that with Gladys, but for now it’s not possible.

Among the slightly more high-end brands, I know Reolink also has a very good reputation, but I haven’t tested it myself yet.
