Not at all, I just didn’t update the package descriptions (I duplicated the Hass.io package)
ok, that was also a possibility, confirmed ![]()
Hello,
In the end, I ventured into the command lines (mostly copy-paste
) after authenticating via SSH.
During the installation under Docker, I unfortunately get this error:
docker: Error response from daemon: Bind mount failed: ‹ /var/lib/gladysassistant › does not exist.
Back in Docker, I can see that a new Gladys container has been added, but obviously, due to the error above, it is stopped and does not start manually. I have already deleted and reinstalled it using the instructions indicated here Installation avec Docker | Gladys Assistant but to no avail.
Would someone be kind enough to guide me?
Thanks a lot,
RégisD
In fact, on Synology, it’s specific, you need to use a folder in one of your shares.
The documentation is not yet official for Syno
A huge thank you: container launched for a copy-paste!
Hello @RegisD I don’t know if Gladys meets your needs and if you are still with us ![]()
If so, can you test this build?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ut118ivvylwosy2/gladysassistant_apollolake-6.2_20213003-1.spk?dl=1
I did it a bit differently this time, a special build for the DS918+ (ApolloLake + DSM 6.2)
Thanks in advance
So far (I tested for a few moments), the integration is as easy as it gets, but the catalog is inferior compared to Home Assistant, hence some hesitation.
Test: ok; should I do something to delete/deactivate the current instance before testing this spk?
That’s the first goal
, glad to hear it
And yes, HA is a monster in terms of integrations
What equipment do you have that is not yet supported via Gladys?
If you’re not using Gladys, it’s better to delete the container you created two days ago, you should be able to do it via the interface.
Keep me posted.
spk installed via the package center, specifying the shared docker folder then the installation folder used during my first attempt (Gladys-v4 in my case).
No error message.
However, Gladys does not start and refuses to start from the package center where it appears correctly.
No issues on the Docker side.
PS: Happy holiday by the way, it was Monday ![]()
Yes, it was Saint Glwadys’s day ![]()
When you say RAS regarding Docker, is the container created and functional or is there nothing at all?
That’s it: I don’t see any Gladys container on the Docker side.
On the Package Center side, it looks like this:

OK, thanks for the test, I’ll look into it. ![]()
In response to a previous question, I also thought that Gladys could answer me, like… Jarvis ![]()
But if I understand correctly: Gladys is more capable of understanding written requests (or even those addressed orally?), to execute them, without however responding orally: is that right?
Hello, I wanted to know where you are at @VonOx with the installation of Gladys on Syno?
Status quo car mon syno n’est pas compatible docker, donc je suis complètement à l’aveugle pour générer un package.
Edit: tu parles de la doc?
This could be interesting for me in this case (mine is and I’m interested in knowing how to create a .spk that creates containers for other projects
)
Do you have any documentation to recommend?
Any work in progress? etc
The SynoCommunity repo
https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc
There are packages that use Docker, I remember I started with the home-assistant spk
I have a fork with the gladys package
Do you think it could go into the official documentation? ![]()
I see that a lot of people are using your « unofficial » documentation, the best would be to have it on the website!
I’m telling you this today because I have a friend who wanted to install Gladys on his Syno, he couldn’t figure out how to do it, and he finally found this post on this forum after a bit of research, it helped him out ![]()
Oh, but it’s not user-friendly (SSH required)
I should soon get a Synology compatible with Docker, testing will be better.
Yes, but in any case, we’ll need this tutorial on the site for all users who have Synos without the Docker interface, right?
Couldn’t we put it on the site as is (the docker run part), and add a message saying we’re working on a one-click Syno integration?
