Edit: I would have liked the tablets to be locked and the countdown triggered for partial arming, as is the case for full arming.
Why?
I use door/window sensors for partial mode, to which I add motion detectors for full mode. The thing is, I have a cat that sometimes stays inside when everyone leaves and we then have to limit ourselves to partial mode.
Even at night, being in partial mode and knowing that someone who might enter could disarm the alarm with two clicks bothers me a little.
To the checkbox I would add an adjustable countdown for partial mode, defaulting to 0, which would allow staying in partial mode with your children or pets at home while leaving the house.
This solution works very well for me.
So what should I do then? Do I open a new feature request asking for tablet mode, with a countdown, also in partial arming mode, and « close » this one?
I just opened a PR to lock tablets in partial arming, it totally makes sense!
Regarding the countdown for partial arming, Iâm a bit more hesitant. This mode is primarily intended for the night, when you want to arm the house as you go to bed. In that context, I find that adding a delay like for a full arming isnât convenient for a user who wants to go to bed right away Besides, most alarm systems donât impose a delay in this mode.
In your specific case @Philou, arming from your smartphone right after leaving already seems to cover your need, doesnât it?
