MQTT device overwritten after creation

hello everyone,

I have Gladys on a Pi3B+. It runs very well.
Problem: I can create an MQTT device with an external broker and topic. Everything is fine up to that point.
If I create a second device, it overwrites the first. Do you have the same issue?

Hi :slight_smile: the external ID needs to be different, otherwise it will indeed reuse the same device.

Good, I did it! In fact, it was impossible for me to write in the External ID field (I spent hours trying to enter text, it wouldn’t go through) I just tried again, I don’t know why: it’s fine!!! Problem solved!
