Deposit thermostat

Hello,

With @Terdious we are working on the development of the netatmo service.

We are making good progress, the idea now is to be able to modify a set temperature via the scenes and possibly via the dashboard.

However, in terms of functionality, I don’t know if there is anything standardized.

Like the poll service, the setValue service or something like that.

Examples of something similar?

Thanks

For now, we don’t have heating management in Gladys 4. It’s a big project!

I’m open to any suggestions/reflections on the use case

For me, regarding heating, we will manage this via scenes. Because it’s a practical solution.

There are two modes of operation:

  • General thermostat for the house (i.e., updating the setpoint of a house)
  • Room thermostats (Updating the equipment that has setpoints and is in the rooms.) There can be several (e.g., multiple thermostatic heads).

Therefore, I would prefer to do something general outside of Netatmo that allows updating the setpoint temperatures.

We would need to « categorize » the general thermostat so that it is « general » and be able to change the temperature of the rooms linked to the thermostatic heads.

What do you think about this?

Indeed, heating management should be native to Gladys, not in the services.

As I mentioned in the other topic:

For me, we need to conduct a state-of-the-art study in the industry currently.

How does Nest work, for example? But not only that, study the top 5 heating brands and see how each one works.

Then we create a functional specification: what do we want in Gladys functionally? (without talking about tech, just at the product level)

Finally, we can decide what to code, but for me, it’s really the last step of the process.

Yes, and in a second step, what we would also like to do. In any case, the actions that Gladys can perform on heating services.

This remains a major task with documentation on each market player, research on how to do things and what we can do.

Exactly

Don’t hesitate to take the lead on this research and post your various findings on this topic

I’ll try but I still need to free up some time, I’ll look into it
