Unwanted activations

Hello,

I have door/window sensors (Xiaomi MCCGQ01LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT) that change state for no reason in a regular and random way…

Any idea how to avoid this or how to have it ignored so it doesn’t trigger an alarm?

Thanks

That’s not normal, it sounds like a problem with the sensor. I have a lot of devices from that brand and I’ve never had this problem.
Maybe during installation you placed the magnet a little too far from the sensor? Which means that at the slightest movement it can trigger?

It works with the four I have.

I think they’re not placed too badly…
and I doubt that my new windows move enough to trigger them.

oh darn :frowning:

Out of curiosity, can you take a photo of where the sensors are placed?

I was going to ask the same because I’ve had them for 6 years and no issues.

Take a screenshot of your scenes and check the log to see if we can find the change in it

I just looked at the Zigbee logs and I do indeed see true values popping up from time to time, not false then true.

Does that mean that if I check the box:

That should fix the problem, right?

I had set up a message in the Gladys discussion as soon as there was a state change, specifying it in there, and you can clearly see 1s everywhere.

So it wouldn’t be related to their installation, which in this case detects the changes correctly.

Ahhh yes indeed, that could be it. Your sensor just reports its state, but as long as that state hasn’t changed there’s no point in triggering your scene. So you need to check the box, indeed
