The madness and confusion of energy monitoring

Hello everyone,
I’ve hit a snag here, and only the specialists can help me now. I’m stuck.

I developed the external integration for the Wattwächter. An IR head that reads German electricity meters:

https://community.gladysassistant.com/

The device resulting from this also provides an index for energy monitoring. The consequence is that this device also correctly appears as a meter in the energy monitoring:

I can assign a contract to this electricity meter as usual, configure the contract, etc. etc.

But as the overall result, it is displayed:
« No device has been assigned to this meter yet »

But the device is itself, right?
What can I do now, because in the energy monitoring widget, no suitable device is displayed for me.

Currently, I only have one option: to include a separate energy monitoring widget with the external integration, because the device provides the meter via index, but also, as visible above, the consumption and costs in 30-minute steps.

Or have I configured or set something up incorrectly?

No idea, can someone from the specialists here give me a hand?

That would be super nice, thank you in advance,

Best regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
I don’t know if this can help you, but we’ll see.

For my part, I retrieve the energy information (indices for simplicity) directly via our smart meter (French).
It’s the same principle as yours: indices are sent back, and the 30-minute consumption (Verbrauch) and 30-minute cost are calculated by Gladys.

To get the costs, I created a new MQTT meter from the energy tracking integration.
Then the energy contract is associated with this meter, and I link my Linky indices to this new meter.
And then I display the energy tracking of the indices but not of the new meter.

What I mean is that the contract is not on my indices but on a parent meter.

Let me know if this is clear to you.

@mutmut Thanks for the quick tip, I’ll give that a try.

Best regards

Tom
