Hello, I recently purchased a ZLINKY_TIC_V2, and I can’t pair this device.
The Linky is 20 meters away from the Raspberry receiver on a SONOF dongle with a small antenna.
I do radio, and I have coaxial adapters and extensions, which allowed me to change the antenna on the LIXEE. I also installed a ZigBee bulb (gateway) right next to the LIXEE, and brought the Raspberry as close as possible (15 meters clear), but nothing works. Other ZigBee devices are installed on GLADYS.
I admit I don’t understand why I’m having these difficulties.
If you can help me with your advice, it would be useful, as I’ve been trying in vain for 2 days and I’m starting to lose patience!
Thank you for your help,
1. Is the ZLinky properly powered by the Linky?
The ZLinky has no battery or power supply of its own: it draws its current from the TIC output of the meter (I1/I2 terminals). Check that its LED lights up or flashes once connected. If it remains off, the problem lies with the connection or the TIC, not with Zigbee.
2. Put Gladys in pairing mode just before connecting the ZLinky
In Gladys, go to Integrations > Zigbee2mqtt, open the discovery tab, and enable pairing. This authorization is time-limited. Once active, unplug and then replug the ZLinky on the Linky (or reset it as indicated in the Lixee manual) so that it searches for a network to join.
3. Beware of the intermediate router (your bulb)
This is probably the most important point. Some Zigbee routers, particularly many connected bulbs, handle the ZLinky poorly. It may then try to go through the bulb and never complete its pairing. Lixee actually recommends pairing directly with the coordinator. I advise you to temporarily unplug the bulb during pairing. You can plug it back in later if the signal turns out to be too weak.
If nothing works, the logs of the Zigbee2mqtt container will tell us if the ZLinky at least tries to join the network. Run docker logs gladys-z2m-zigbee2mqtt during the pairing attempt, then copy and paste here what appears (for example, an interview failed).
Welcome @Rousber!
I’m not a zlinky specialist, I have one in USB and not in Zigbee, but some tests would be needed.
If you have a Zigbee temperature sensor (for example), do you pick up its signal if you place it near your Linky meter?
A slightly crazy idea comes to mind for pairing: a 15m extension cord with at the end (near the Linky), a Zigbee device (a plug) that will act as a router. There you can start pairing hoping it works.
And after my crazy ideas, I reread and reread your request and I realize that you have already tested the proximity to have a gateway …
Last idea to the c.., you put your RPI at the end of the 15m extension cord and you do the pairing … well you need an Ethernet cable of 15m in the other direction or a good Wi-Fi key.
