Eufy Security integration

Hello everyone, do you think it’s possible to integrate this system? Or is it too closed?

Thanks in advance

Is there a particular device of theirs you’re targeting?

I see that some of their smart locks are Matter-compatible:

Generally, in 2025, I really recommend favoring brands that are compatible with open, local standards, like Zigbee or Matter.

Some brands are mid-transition to Matter, so be careful not to buy older devices that will never be updated.

My question simply comes from this promo I saw on Dealabs:

Currently I have a Zigbee siren but the sound is catastrophic:

I have another issue: my tablet that’s on my wall with Gladys tends to turn off randomly. So I thought, why not invest in an all-in-one kit

I searched the Amazon page and their site, no information about the protocol. So in my opinion, it’s 100% proprietary. Avoid it! (or it’s well hidden on their site)

Is your configuration OK? Hardware problem?

No idea — they’re Danew DsLide 1021 tablets, Android 11 Go Edition
I installed Fully Kiosk Browser on them; it works for a while then the screen goes black after a few days of use, and I have to keep holding the power button to restart it.

I’m not an expert on this type of tablet, here’s what ChatGPT says:

Ok, this is a fairly common case with entry-level Android tablets like Danew — they often have issues with deep sleep, battery management, or Android crashing when used in permanent display mode (for example with Fully Kiosk).

Here is a structured method to diagnose and fix this :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:gear: 1. Check the configuration in

Fully Kiosk Browser

Open Fully → Settings → Device Management :

  • Keep Screen On:white_check_mark: enabled
  • Prevent from Sleep:white_check_mark: enabled
  • Motion Detection → disabled if not used
  • Screensaver / Black screen timeout → disabled
  • Device Reboot Daily → you can try enabling this at 04:00 AM, it often fixes freezes on this type of device
  • Watchdog Timer → enable it (it restarts Fully if it crashes)

:backhand_index_pointing_right: These tablets don’t have enough RAM, so a small scheduled reboot prevents lockups.

:battery: 2. Check Android settings

In Settings → Battery / Power saving :

  • Disable all battery optimizations for Fully Kiosk. → Settings → Apps → Fully Kiosk → Battery → “No restrictions”.
  • Make sure the tablet stays plugged in continuously and that the cable/power supply is reliable (some go to sleep if the charge fluctuates).
  • Enable developer mode (tap 7 times on the build number) → “Stay awake while charging” → :white_check_mark: enabled.

:puzzle_piece: 3. Disable deep sleep

Some Android Go devices have a very aggressive “Deep Sleep” mode.

You can check this via an app like “DontKillMyApp” or by going to:

Settings → Battery → Optimization → “All apps”

and disable for Fully, but also for “Android System” or “Launcher”.

:toolbox: 4. More radical solutions if it continues

If despite everything the screen ends up black (system crash or frozen screen):

  • Schedule an automatic reboot via Fully :Settings → Other Settings → Reboot Device daily at 04:00
  • Or, if Fully does not reboot Android, install an external app like “Auto Reboot” (root not required on some versions).
  • You can also plug the tablet into a smart plug controlled by Gladys and reboot it automatically if the tablet’s ping fails (a “smart home” solution ).

:receipt: 5. As a last resort: change hardware

Danew devices are known for:

  • poor Android Go stability,
  • low-end components,
  • unmaintained firmware.

As always in tech, the best way to get durable hardware is to buy quality

And buying quality doesn’t mean spending huge sums; there are often good deals.

For example, at my place I have a Google Pixel Tablet — it’s really high-end and I bought it new on LeBoncoin from a Boulanger store that was clearing out its stock of Pixel Tablets…

Thanks for the config info — well, as always ChatGPT extrapolates a lot by

Ah yes, I understand better.

It depends on the use, but for me it’s really the showcase of my home automation, and it’s a tool I use every day: checking today’s Tempo day, controlling devices, looking up a recipe, etc. So, having quality hardware, and updates for years, is peace of mind and everyday comfort that’s well worth €300
