EV Charger/Tuya et Gladys

Hello,

I want to integrate my EV charger (controlled via Tuya) into Gladys to monitor consumption, but when I try to add it, I get: « Unsupported or unavailable model » (see screenshot).

The device works perfectly in the Tuya Smart app.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with an EV charger or another unrecognized Tuya device? Is there a way to manually force support?

Thanks to you all!

Hello!

A new development for the Tuya integration is underway and will eventually allow you to add additional devices such as your charger.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you a date or deadline, just tell you that it’s coming.

I’m tagging @Terdious who had a hand in this so that this message doesn’t get forgotten.

If you want, the discussion thread is here:

Hello @Atoxis!

Thanks @GBoulvin.

Indeed, @pierre-gilles just wants more testers than @Psoy and I on the first PR to get it out.

With all the PRs currently in progress on this topic, unfortunately, it will take a lot of time before we get to this addition.

But we’ll keep you updated on the progress here! You can read the topic presented by @GBoulvin; the 4th PR in progress adds a feature to suggest/request the addition of new unsupported devices. This will allow us to have everything needed to implement your requirement. Well, if approved by @pierre-gilles of course.

Hi @Terdious, I think we might have misunderstood each other. From my side, I understood from this message that you were putting your involvement in the project on hold until October. So, I thought that if I merge the Tuya - local baseline - PR1 and there are feedback or bugs in production, there might potentially be no one available to manage them quickly.

Now, it’s been 3 weeks that we’ve been waiting for any feedback or additional tests, and no one has spoken up. You both have tested with @Psoy, so if from your side you consider it stable enough to go to production, then for me it’s OK to merge :+1:

My only concern is your availability in case of production issues :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: If you think it’s manageable, then let’s go for it!

Hello!!

For fixes, I will always be available as soon as possible. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to leave PRs open

I was just pointing out that during the summer period, I won’t have any extra time to do extra dev work at any moment (weekends or evenings).

But for requested needs, whenever I’m available, I’ll gladly move things forward! However, since there are already 7 PRs in progress, which will likely require fixes or things to validate/decide on your end, I think it will take some time before we can address new requests. Normally, from PR6 onwards, things can be done in parallel.

But I do think that until PR6, we’ll need 1 or 2 more testers besides me!

Looking forward to continuing! I now have a $90 plan with Claude, so I have plenty to do ^^ Well, although I finished last week at 100% on the weekly ^^

I’ve already merged the first PR!

Oh yeah, you’re going strong :joy:
