So many beautiful things

One small note: normally the square meter symbol isn’t m2 but m²

In any case, I can’t wait to try all of this!
Thanks!

Ah, thanks for the feedback! I didn’t know you could do superscripts  I’ll change that in the translations

Edit: it’s fixed in this PR: Fix square meter symbol in translations by Pierre-Gilles · Pull Request #1814 · GladysAssistant/Gladys · GitHub

Great version with lots of improvements  to all contributors

In that case, you can also correct the cubic meters of the volumes
m3 => m³

It’s fixed in the same PR! Thanks for the feedback

A small spelling-correction PR https://github.com/GladysAssistant/v4-website/pull/179

Excellent, thanks for your corrections @cicoub13 :folded_hands: I’ve merged!

Hello !
The idea of the devices widget is great — it saves a lot of space on the dashboard (especially on a tablet)!

However, once I’ve added my blinds I no longer know which blind is in which room

Can’t we add the room in parentheses as an option or by default?

You can change the name in the MQTT integration, can’t you?

Normally the behavior is the same as on the « Room devices » widget

Maybe give your shutters a more explicit name (« Living room shutter », « Kitchen shutter »)?

I did think of that, indeed, but here it’s the action that’s displayed and not the device itself.
And it bothers me to rename the action when the device is correctly named.
I don’t find it coherent to put the room name on a device or an action when the device necessarily belongs to a room to be visible in the device selectors.

My shutter devices have two actions, state and position.

Until now with the room’s device widget I had no issues (logical) but with this slightly more catch-all widget we could have a rule: if the displayed actions have the same names then we add the room in parentheses?

I have the same problem and I thought of the same thing: add in parentheses the name of the room the device is associated with. What do you think @pierre-gilles?

I understand the issue, and I completely agree with the statement :

And it annoys me to rename the action when the device is properly named.

The problem is that part of this forum is pro « displaying the feature name », part is pro « displaying the device name » (I just saw that the same debate flared up again in another thread, but the other way around… )

It’s the eternal debate of this forum and I feel like nobody is happy with whatever I do about it, so I’m a bit stumped about the solution.

It’s a topic that stirs people up and becomes very time-consuming whenever it’s brought up, so I’m reluctant to take it out of the closet again

If it were up to me, we’d display the device name everywhere, but I’m afraid I’d alienate half the forum if I did that.

I’m adding something — I think an improvement that would put an end to this debate would be to handle this at the widget level, meaning being able to customize both the position (existing and fairly requested feature: Pouvoir changer l'ordre d'affichage des appareils dans une box), and the title of each row (which would be set by default to the device’s title)

Thus, we decouple the display of these widgets from the device itself; it’s customizable without modifying the device, and everyone does what they want when they display the device

That seems like a good solution to me.

I think we’re not on the same page.
I personally like the feature’s display; it doesn’t bother me from a state perspective.
Here we’re talking about more granularity at the room level for this box.

We agree that a device has x features etc.
But a device is also linked to a room.
I simply want the room to be added in parentheses for

Indeed, that would close any debate ^^
