You mean 18 votes!! ![]()
19 votes woo which shows the topic is in demand ![]()
Yes, why not increase the height!
Besides, « the same size as when thereâs an image » is relative. All image sizes are different; it wonât be exactly the same.
Iâm wondering about the point of expiring the value of buttonsâŠ
Personally it bothers me more than anythingâŠ
Thatâs somewhat my case too. I think that in the long run it would be good to evolve the feature so that it can be adjusted for each device ![]()
Itâs a first step!
I confirm that the automatic MQTT reconnection to a server external to the machine on which Gladys runs now works perfectly.
In the event of a network and/or power outage on one of them, even 10 minutes later, Gladys reconnects properly.
A big thank you to you !!
Several possibilities (not exclusive):
- Exclude certain device types from this feature (e.g., buttons)
- Consider the last received value timestamp for the whole device (and not just within the feature), so that a sensor that reports signal quality periodically can indicate that the entire device is « up to date »
- Provide the option to exclude certain devices
I think the three solutions are not mutually exclusive. #3 is the most powerful, but it requires user action while the other two are just common sense.
Surprising, I didnât do anything in this update that would cause that
All the better!
I think option 1 makes sense; we should make a list of devices to exclude, because there must be a certain number: buttons, smoke detectors, leak sensors, etc.
Ok, Iâve made a pull request proposal: Add a list of device feature categories that don't expires in time by Pierre-Gilles · Pull Request #1884 · GladysAssistant/Gladys · GitHub
I excluded:
- Button
- Leak sensor
- Smoke sensor
- Textual reporting of information on the dashboard (the famous « text » feature)
Any other features to exclude?
As mentioned in the other thread, for my part 2. is the most likely to interest me (per device) even if 1. is indeed just as interesting. And a combination of 1. and 2. should be able to avoid going through 3.
At my place, I have a notification for a motion sensor and an open/close sensor.
I like to see how
In that case method 2. would work, because your door-open sensor probably sends its battery level on a daily basis.
It would be a shame to lose the functionality for these sensors, because itâs precisely these sensors where, in my opinion, itâs important to know that they are still active!
In this case, thatâs a real alert for you @Isage! It means that no temperature value has been sent from that sensor for 2 days, which is not normal.
Temperature and humidity data are arriving correctly in Z2mqtt, but not in Gladys!?
@Isage Are you creating a specific topic so we can discuss it?
@cce66 @spenceur
It took me a while but Iâve finally finished my tutorial:
