Gladys Assistant 4.5.3 is available!

Hello everyone,

This is a fairly minor update, but it brings some interesting fixes!

The next version of Gladys will surely be more robust, as I have been working on a very big feature for several months: the display of curves on the dashboard (Affichage des courbes de capteurs sur le dashboard)

New Features

  • No more horizontal scroll bars on Windows on the dashboard!
  • Zigbee2mqtt: Added IKEA E1603/E1702/E1708 devices
  • Zigbee2mqtt: Added Tuya TS0201 devices
  • Zigbee2mqtt: Added E2001/E2002 devices (@Pasdesushi)
  • Improved 2FA configuration page on Gladys Plus
  • When a password reset is requested, if the entered email is incorrect, display the list of users in the logs to help the user.

How to update?

If you installed Gladys with the official Raspberry Pi OS image, your instances will update automatically in the coming hours. This may take up to 24 hours, no need to worry.

If you installed Gladys with Docker, make sure you are using Watchtower (See the documentation)

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this release!

Hello @pierre-gilles,
I don’t know if this is due to the update, but Gladys stopped around 6 PM today.
Had to unplug and plug it back in.

The update does indeed stop Gladys (stop then restart), but normally it only takes about ten seconds. Did you wait a bit?

Thanks @pierre-gilles.
Yes, I know that Gladys stops during the update and restarts, but not this time.
I unplugged/replugged it just before sending the message, around 8:30 PM.

I’m not an expert, but I find it dangerous to suddenly unplug and replug the Pi, don’t you? Wouldn’t the board take a hit every time you do that? Personally, I run a sudo reboot which does the job very well, or a shutdown and then I unplug and replug when the Pi is off.

Thanks Jean for your participation, but how do you do a sudo reboot when the pi is not accessible via SSH?
If you have an answer, I’m interested
It’s the first time I unplugged because I had no other solution.

It’s certain that this complicates things, it would have been great to specify this in your previous message

So I would try to reconnect it since it doesn’t boot, remove the SD card, put it back in, and reconnect it, and normally after 2,3 seconds you should see the green LED of the Pi go crazy

In fact, in the « Forced to unplug and replug. Â» it’s what I meant…
It rebooted normally afterwards. It has been working correctly since.
Thanks again for your help @Jean34

Clearly the raspberry crashed during the image update, is there enough free space left on your SD card?

Hello, a small remark: SD cards have a limited write lifespan and are more fragile. To limit these issues, it is recommended to use a USB key or a USB-connected hard drive. There is a procedure to make the Raspberry Pi bootable on USB.

From experience, I can tell you that a USB drive is almost as reliable as an SD card, so not great… Originally, it wasn’t created for the purpose of reading and writing 24/7, it was mainly for storage.

Great! Thanks for the work, and for the support of new devices!

The Ikea button is well recognized by Gladys, and it receives the values,
but I have the same problem as in this topic: Problème dans l'utilisation de l'interrupteur IKEA E1743 dans une scène en tant que déclencheur

The button returns text and not a number and therefore cannot be used in scenes
Currently I have bypassed the problem with node-red (thanks for the tutorial!) and the mqtt integration.

In any case, thanks a lot for the work done Gladys 4 is really top! :rocket:

Oh yes okay, so it’s clearly a hardware problem.

I agree with @VonOx, do you have enough storage on your SD card?

Otherwise, I strongly recommend switching to an SSD, SD cards often have data corruption issues over the long term, and are not very fast.

This SSD is €24 on Amazon, and is often on sale: PNY CS900 SSD Interne SATA III 240Go, Lecture 535MB/s

We talk about it here on the forum:

Hello and thank you all,
There is only Gladys on the SD card.
For the SSD, I have one that I no longer use but I don’t have much time right now to make the switch. It’s a 256GB Samsung.
For 20€, a 120GB one, I’m going to order one. I’ll make the switch during the holidays.
I’ve been telling myself for a long time that I need to do it.

Top! Remember to order not just the SSD, but also the external case that goes with it

Of course @pierre-gilles!
Thanks

Attention no on/off button.

I came across one that wasn’t recognized.
