I tested this update at home for a week — everything works perfectly, no issues to report
PM10 Support in Matter
A big thank you to @Nagromdark, a new contributor to Gladys
He added support for PM10 fine particulate sensors in the Matter integration.
This is a great step forward that further enriches the Gladys ecosystem!
My summer projects
On my side, I’ve been working these past few weeks on a fairly complex core project…
I can’t reveal everything yet, but I can tell you you’re going to like it a lot
Stay tuned, it’s coming very soon!
As always, you can update Gladys right now with one click from Gladys to enjoy these new features.
I forgot something in the release notes: it is now possible to change the category of a Zigbee device from « plug » to « light », which is handy for lights plugged into a smart plug
It was already there — actually, at the moment we display this unit selector by device category and not by category + type, so it shows the option to add a unit for all features of a plug, even if it only concerns the « consumption », « power », etc. part.
It’s a point for improvement, but in the meantime it doesn’t hurt that it’s there
OK thanks. I’m in a situation where I currently have a smart plug that controls a lamp. For now my plug is named « Prise » and I could rename it « Lumière » but what does that change concretely, I have trouble seeing the point. Also in scenes I’d then have to change to « Allumer la lumière » instead of « Allumer la prise ».
The plug becomes considered a light, so it impacts all the « consumers » of that functionality: Gladys internal AI, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa.
Instead of saying « Turn on the plug … », you can say « Turn on the living room light ».
On the dashboard, if you click the button to turn on several bulbs at once, it will turn on the plug.
In the Apple, Google, and Amazon apps, the device will be considered a light.
