GLADYS or Zigbee2MQTT slave

Feature description
Would it be possible to have the ability to control a Gladys (or Zigbee2MQTT) slave instance from a Gladys master instance… I’m thinking of two buildings far apart from each other, accessible via powerline (PLC), for example…

Hi

As far as I know, it is possible to manage multiple houses with Gladys. What exactly do you need?

well, two « houses », two Zigbee2MQTT keys and one Gladys instance

In my opinion this is a new feature to request. It’s an interesting idea, and much simpler if Gladys can talk with its « daughter » rather than having the Zigbee2MQTT networks connect, for example.

In the meantime (with Zigbee), I think you can deploy two Gladys instances and use Node-RED as a « gateway ».
For each new sensor added to your new home, you ask Node-RED to listen to the new states and send them to your primary Gladys (and vice versa), via fake mqtt device. This way the two Gladys instances will at least share the sensors, but not the scenes, configurations, etc.

Finally, with Zigbee2MQTT there is the possibility to do a « remote USB device ». Your Zigbee2MQTT instance can run with your primary Gladys and the second Zigbee2MQTT instance will use the adapter over the network. But I don’t know if it’s possible to duplicate the adapters and manage everything with the same Z2M service.

Several discussions seem to address the topic with the creator of Z2M:
