The idea is to receive a notification (email, Telegram, other) when our local Gladys instance (installed on a Raspberry) is unreachable (for a defined period of time?). This can be useful when going on vacation to detect a network outage or a power outage.
For my part, I would have liked to be notified when Gladys restarts.
It’s simple, but it’s the only way to know if there’s a power outage, for example. I guess you would need a trigger or an MQTT device?
On that point, I use on my side a (free) service called https://healthchecks.io/, and honestly it does the job so well I don’t even know if we need a native feature
If one day Gladys or the internet is down at my place, I see it right away — I receive an email; it’s possible to have notifications on lots of services (WhatsApp, Telegram, ntfy, etc…)
I occasionally see disconnections when my internet router updates (around 2-3 AM in general)
