[GladysPlus] Be notified of a lost connection

I just realized that my Gladys instance no longer had Internet access.
So there have been no backups, and probably for several days.
I only connect locally and, although the weather was showing an error, it didn’t worry me too much — it’s happened before.
Other family members did tell me Gladys was unavailable, but I didn’t take it into account, since at home, locally, it was working (I blamed the Wi‑Fi, their phones, but didn’t think about Gladys’s Internet access).
I would like to be notified of an Internet access problem for the Gladys instance by any means (local display, WebApp notification…)!
For now, it remains to be investigated…

In the meantime, does this meet your needs?

Unfortunately, no.
I don’t know what happened at my place but everything was working and connected except Gladys, which had access to the local network but no longer to the Internet.
Yet on the same machine I have a Plex server, Calibre-web, P2P etc… which all had access to the Web.
A reboot wasn’t enough and everything went back to normal after an .
I’m thinking that the Gladys+ WebApp might maybe do the job?

It would have worked perfectly fine! If Gladys had lost Internet, she wouldn’t have been able to ping healthcheck and you would have received an alert

Actually, I hadn’t read it all the way through.
It’s another hassle — registering with an external service, settings to manage… Can’t Gladys+ do it instead?

Yes, absolutely — if there’s demand for that I’ll develop it

In the meantime, the solution with Healthcheck is really a good option. Especially since it’s a very simple service, developed by a single, reliable developer for years, it’s really very, very quick to set up.

Hi, for my part, I ping the network bandwidth with Node-RED and Gladys alerts me if it drops too much.
