External integration - Bring! (grocery lists)

Hi everyone!

The family shopping list Bring! in Gladys: on the dashboard and in the scenes.

What it does

  • A « Bring! Shopping List » widget: the list items, a form to add, another to check, and a « one-click item » button (e.g. « Milk »).
  • Four scene actions: add an item (with a detail, « 2 litres »), check it, remove it, read a list (the number of items and the list in text, for a message or a voice announcement).
  • Three scene triggers: item added, item checked, list emptied.
  • Two-way translation: Bring! categorizes items from its catalog under their German name. You type « milk », Bring! receives « Milch », and the widget displays « Milk ».

The cool part

  • A wireless button in the kitchen → « Milk » added to the list.
  • At 5 p.m. on Friday → the shopping list sent to the phone.
  • The list is emptied → « Shopping done » to the whole family.

Installation

Gladys 5.1 minimum; the widget forms require Gladys 5.2, the « one-click item » button works everywhere. It will be in the store at the next indexer run. In a hurry? Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address

Enter the email and password of your Bring! account, then click Test Account. If you log in to Bring! with Google or Apple, the documentation explains how to do it.

Honest small reservations

  • Unofficial API (that of the Bring! web app), and developed without an account: the structure comes from the library used by the Bring! integration of Home Assistant. Your feedback is precious.
  • The password is encrypted by Gladys and sent only to Bring!. After a refusal, the integration does not insist, to avoid blocking the account.
  • The lists are re-read every 2 minutes. In the triggers, the name of the list and the item are typed exactly as in Bring!.
