Hi everyone!
A simple and universal integration: your RSS and Atom feeds
in Gladys. News, blogs, Gladys forum, alerts, software releases… No account or key required.
What it does
- Reads RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 and Atom feeds.
- A « News Feed » widget: title, source, age, summary and
link, for all your feeds or just one. - A « New Article » trigger, with feed and keyword filters.
- A « Latest Article from a Feed » scene action: title, link,
summary, date. - A Test Feeds button to check each address.
The cool part
- New forum post about « integration » → notification.
- New security advisory for your Linux distribution → immediate message.
- In the morning, the newspaper headline read by the speaker.
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum. It will be in the store at the next indexer update. In a hurry? Integrations → Install from GitHub,
with the address GitHub - LM1LC3N7/gladys-rss: Gladys Assistant external integration for RSS and Atom feeds: latest articles of your feeds in a dashboard widget, “new article” scene trigger with title and link. No account, no key. · GitHub
Paste your feed addresses, separated by commas or line breaks, with an optional name after a space or a |:
https://www.lemonde.fr/rss/une.xml`` Le Monde.
Honest small reservations
- Keywords: Gladys compares scene filters exactly, so no « title contains ». You list your keywords in the
configuration, and the event carries the first one found in the title. - After a restart, the first read does not trigger anything: nothing is written to disk.
- No more than 5 events per feed and per read, to avoid avalanches.
Feeds are read every 15 minutes by default (5 minimum), with conditional requests to spare the sites. - The widget cannot suggest your feeds in a menu: you type the name or
the feed number. - On the security side: only http(s) addresses, 2 MB maximum per
read, and all text is cleaned of HTML.
