Hi everyone!

French-style home series, episode roller shutters: the Chacon DiO modules, you can find them in the electrical section of any hardware store, and many of you have installed them behind your switches. The Wi-Fi ones, controlled by the DiO One app, are coming to Gladys.

What it does

  • Roller shutters (REV-SHUTTER): the position from 0 to 100% and the Open / Stop / Close buttons, which also show when the shutter is going up or down.
  • Light switches (REV-LIGHT) and Wi-Fi outlets: on / off.
  • DiO video doorbell: „Rings“ every time the doorbell rings.
  • Real-time: a change made from the app, the wall switch, or a remote control is immediately updated in Gladys.
  • A « Unreachable » badge when a device loses Wi-Fi or power, and the trigger that goes with it: « DiO Device Offline or Back Online ».
  • A « DiO Shutters » widget with Open All / Stop All / Close All, and a scene action « Control All DiO Shutters ».
  • In French, English, German, and Spanish.

The cool part

Sunset → all shutters closed, in one go
The freezer outlet goes offline → „Power outage in the garage? „
Someone rings → the entrance lighting turns on, and a notification on the phone

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.1 minimum.

  1. Enter the email and password of your DiO One account.
  2. Discovery tab: add your devices.

Honest small reservations

  • Everything goes through Chacon’s cloud: you need Internet.
  • No bulbs, dimmers, or cameras yet: their operation is documented nowhere. The „List devices in DiO account“ button displays them with their model: if you have any, send me what it says, it will help me add them.
  • Old DiO in 433 MHz are not concerned, only the Wi-Fi models.
  • A garage door or gate connected to a shutter module is recognized (module setting in the DiO app, or a name that contains „garage“ or „gate“) and remains read-only by default: you can see if it is open, but Gladys does not open it. An option allows you to authorize it, always as a shutter and never as a switch (so not by voice), and it remains separate from the widget and „Control All Shutters“.
  • Developed without the hardware. I verified from home that the connection to the real DiO cloud goes all the way and properly rejects a fake account, but no one has used it yet with a real account: if you are equipped with DiO, your feedback interests me a lot. The real-time channel also responds well. The exact type of outlets remains to be confirmed.
