Hi everyone! ![]()
After SolarEdge, Enphase, and others, a major inverter brand was missing from the store: Fronius. It was in the « energy and solar » batch of @pierre-gilles. Here is the integration: your Fronius installation’s solar production, grid, and battery in Gladys, locally, without cloud.
What it does
- A Fronius Installation device: solar production, home consumption, grid draw and feed-in, battery charge and discharge, daily and total production.
- One device per inverter: power, voltages and currents, DC inputs, daily production, status and error code.
- One device per meter (Smart Meter): power and voltage per phase, drawn and fed index. The drawn index feeds Gladys’s energy and cost tracking.
- One device per battery: charge level, stored energy, temperature.
- A Fronius widget: the sun → home → grid → battery flow, daily production, 24-hour curve, self-consumption, and autonomy.
- Three triggers: inverter fault (with its code), battery full, battery empty.
- In French, English, German, and Spanish.
The cool part
Injection greater than 1,500 W for 10 minutes → turn on the water heater
Battery full → start the dishwasher or car charging
Inverter fault → notification with the error code
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum.
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-fronius: Fronius solar inverters, meters and batteries for Gladys Assistant, local Solar API · GitHub
- Enter the IP address of the Datamanager or GEN24 inverter, then Test the connection. On a GEN24, you must first enable the Solar API (Communication → Solar API).
- Discovery tab: add your devices.
Hardware side: Datamanager 1.0 / 2.0 (Symo, Primo, Eco, Galvo, IG Plus), GEN24, GEN24 Plus, and Tauro, Smart Meter, BYD Battery-Box, Fronius Solar Battery, and Reserva batteries.
Honest small reservations
- Developed without the hardware: everything was tested on real Fronius API responses (taken from Home Assistant tests), not on a real installation. The direction of the meter indices is the point I would most like to see confirmed by you.
- Read-only, intentionally: nothing controls the inverter or the battery.
- No automatic discovery (Fronius does not announce itself on the network), one installation per integration.
- On a GEN24, the « daily production » only starts the day after the integration is installed.
Do you have Fronius? I’m taking your feedback, even a simple « it works » ![]()
Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Fronius.
