External integration - HomeWizard Energy

Hi everyone!

This one is for our Belgian and Dutch neighbors, where the HomeWizard P1 meter is almost a reflex: here comes HomeWizard Energy, 3.5% of Home Assistant installations. Everything runs locally, via the official HomeWizard API, no cloud.

What it does

  • P1 meter: live imported and exported power, import and export index (total and per tariff), voltage and current per phase, gas and water when connected. The import index directly feeds the energy tab of Gladys.
  • Energy Socket: on/off, power, energy, button lock, LED brightness.
  • kWh meters (single and three-phase), Watermeter, and Plug-In Battery.
  • Automatic discovery on the network, IP address as a fallback, API v1 and v2 (pairing via the device button).
  • A « Live Energy » widget: exchanges with the grid, import, export, and solar production if you have a kWh meter on the panels.
  • Two triggers: « The house reinjects more than… » and « The house consumes more than… », at the threshold crossing. And actions to turn a plug on or off.

The cool part

More than 1.5 kW of solar surplus → the water heater plug turns on
More than 5 kW consumed → a non-essential plug turns off, and a message is sent

Installation

Gladys 5.1 minimum.

It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-homewizard: HomeWizard Energy for Gladys Assistant: P1 meter, energy sockets and kWh meters, on the local network · GitHub

  1. Enable « Local API » in the HomeWizard Energy app, or launch « Pair » in the integration and press the device button.
  2. Add your devices from the Discovery tab.

Honest small reservations: it’s periodic reading (10s by default), the plug and the Watermeter only speak in v1, and I developed it without the hardware: tests are based on the real responses of 13 devices and a fake P1 in a container. Feedback on a real P1, especially in v2, would be precious.
