Hi everyone!

Series « French-style home », episode municipal risks: you know, that document you sign when buying or renting without reading it properly. Clay, radon, earthquakes, flooding, Seveso sites… all of this is public on Géorisques, and now in Gladys. With a bonus trigger when the municipality gets a natural disaster order, so you don’t miss the deadline for declaring it to your insurer.

What it does

  • A « Risks in my municipality » device, with:
    • the house’s exposure to clay shrinkage-swelling (those famous cracks after a drought);
    • the radon potential and seismic zone;
    • flooding: is the municipality covered by a prevention plan or a risk area;
    • classified installations and Seveso sites, in the municipality and within 5 km;
    • recorded cavities and ground movements;
    • the number of natural disaster orders since 1982, and the most recent one.
  • A « New natural disaster order » trigger, filterable by type (drought, flooding…). It doesn’t trigger for already known orders or those published more than six months ago.
  • A colorful widget, with a link to the Géorisques report for your address.
  • In French, English, German, and Spanish.

The cool part

Natural disaster order published → « Declare your damages to your insurer within 30 days »
Drought order on a house in a clay area → reminder to walk around the house and photograph the cracks
Radon in category 3 → daily reminder to air out for 10 minutes

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.2 minimum.

It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-georisques: Natural and industrial risks of your town (Georisques) for Gladys Assistant · GitHub

  1. No account or key to create: it’s a public service.
  2. In the configuration: choose the Gladys home (by default), an address, or an INSEE code, then save. The Read now button shows the found municipality.
  3. Discovery tab: add the device.

Honest small reservations

  • It’s information, not an alert system, and it doesn’t replace the official risk statement for a sale or rental.
  • Outside of clay and nearby Seveso sites, the data is for the municipality, not your plot. Clay and Seveso sites within 5 km require an exact position (house or address).
  • Read once a day: more than enough for data that doesn’t change often.
  • Tested on real Géorisques data: for Toulouse, seismic zone 1, major flood risk area, 50 natural disaster orders (the last one on 08/02/2026). Your feedback on other municipalities is welcome.

Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Géorisques or the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
