Hi everyone! ![]()
A little something that can please many people: Open-Meteo, as a weather provider for Gladys. Free, no account and no API key, worldwide, based on major national models (Météo-France, ICON, GFS, ECMWF…). @pierre-gilles saw it as the ideal default weather, here it is ![]()
And this one, I’ve tested it for real: Toulouse, New York and Sydney, in °C as in °F, day and night in the right time zone.
What it does
Dashboard and chat weather: current conditions, 24 hours and 8 days, in °C, m/s and mm, or in °F, mph and inches depending on your profile.
Feels like, gusts, UV, visibility, sunrise and sunset, rain probability, day and night icons.
A trigger « Rain or snow expected in the hour », filterable by type and intensity.
A scene action « Precipitation in the coming hour », with a ready-to-send sentence.
A widget « Rain in the next 2 hours », every 15 minutes.
Choice of model (automatic, Météo-France, ICON, GFS, ECMWF…) and a Test Open-Meteo button.
The cool part
Rain expected in the hour → « Bring the bike in! » on the phone
Every morning at 7 a.m. → the day’s weather in the chat
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum.
It arrives in the store later today. In a hurry? Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-open-meteo: Open-Meteo forecasts worldwide, free and without API key, a weather provider for Gladys Assistant · GitHub
- In Gladys: Integrations → Open-Meteo → Install. That’s it, no key to create

- Check that your home is geolocated in Gladys: it’s what gives the position.
Honest small reservations: Open-Meteo does not have official alerts (for that, Météo France or Pirate Weather are there), the 15-minute rain comes from a model and not from a radar, and free use is reserved for non-commercial use (which is largely the case for us
).
Like the previous ones, it is developed with Claude Code
