MétéoMédia for Gladys — unofficial connector, personal use
This module makes MétéoMédia the weather provider for Gladys (version 5.1 or newer), designed for Quebec and Canada. It is neither affiliated with Pelmorex nor approved by it, and it is reserved for personal use.
What it brings to Gladys
- Native weather: the weather widget on the dashboard and the assistant (« what will the weather be like tomorrow? ») use MétéoMédia’s forecasts.
- Current conditions, 24 hours, and 8 days.
- MétéoMédia’s perceived temperature, in °C or °F according to each user’s preference.
- Sunrise and sunset, UV index.
- Nothing to configure: the position comes from your home in Gladys.
- Official alerts from Environment Canada: warnings, watches, and advisories that cover the house.
- They appear in the weather widget.
- They trigger Gladys’s « Weather Alert » scenes a few minutes after they are issued, instead of 30 minutes.
- « Perceived » widget:
- Humidex in summer or wind chill in winter, with its risk level according to Environment Canada;
- Perceived temperature in gusts and the worst hour of the next 24 hours;
- The delay for frostbite on exposed skin;
- The stifling night, the risk of freezing rain, and the pressure trend.
- « Perceived Level Changed » scene trigger, on 10 levels from extreme cold to heatwave. Examples: close the blinds and start the air conditioning at « great discomfort », turn on the block heater or send a notification at « high cold ». The ready-to-send message is provided to the scene.
- Precipitation radar from Environment Canada, centered on the house, in the weather widget.
- Reliability:
- If MétéoMédia does not respond, Environment Canada takes over;
- The last known weather remains displayed for up to 3 hours;
- The data is cached for 10 minutes.
- Option: perceived alerts calculated by the integration (disabled by default, unofficial).
