Hi everyone! ![]()
Do you have a WiiM, an Arylic, or an Audio Pro speaker? They all have one thing in common: they all run on the same base, LinkPlay. A single integration controls them all, locally.
What it does
- One device per player, with:
- play, pause, stop, previous, next;
- volume and mute;
- title, artist, album;
- the source (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, optical, line, HDMI depending on the model);
- the equalizer of the WiiM;
- the multiroom group it is part of.
- The action « Speak on a speaker » from Gladys plays your announcements on it.
- Four scene actions: play a preset, play an address (a web radio), join a group, leave the group.
- A trigger « the source changes » (for example when the TV switches to the optical input).
- A « LinkPlay » widget: title, volume, source, and previous / play / next / presets buttons.
- Automatic discovery of players on the network.
- In French, English, German, and Spanish.
DLNA already knew how to play music on these devices. Here, it’s full control: sources, presets, groups, equalizer.
The cool part
7 a.m. → the WiiM in the kitchen plays the « morning radio » preset
The TV turns on → the Arylic amp switches to the optical input
The doorbell rings → announcement on all speakers in the group
Installation
Gladys 5.2 minimum (for the preset button of the widget).
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer update. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-linkplay: LinkPlay audio streamers (WiiM, Arylic, Audio Pro...) for Gladys Assistant: playback, volume, presets, local · GitHub
- Launch the search, or enter the IP address of your players.
- Discovery tab: add them.
Honest small reservations
- Developed without the hardware: everything was tested on real LinkPlay player responses (taken from Home Assistant tests), not on a real WiiM. Your feedback is welcome

- The functions depend a bit on the brand: the equalizer and detailed metadata are mainly on the WiiM side.
It relies on python-linkplay (MIT): thanks to its authors! Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with LinkPlay, WiiM, Arylic, or Audio Pro.
