Good evening
I present to you Strava for Gladys, an external integration that brings your Strava activities and statistics into your home automation.
What it brings
A « Strava » device with its sensors
- Last activity: name, sport, distance, duration, elevation gain, average speed
- Distance and moving time for the week
- Running, cycling, and swimming distances over 4 weeks and over the year
- Metric or imperial units, your choice
Scene triggers
- New Strava activity, filterable by sport
- Strava personal record
- Strava weekly goal achieved, for a distance goal you set
Scene actions
- Synchronize Strava
- Get statistics for a period (week, 4 weeks, year, since forever)
- Get the last activity
The values are reusable in the following actions, for example in a Telegram message.
Two dashboard widgets
- Strava this week: distance, time, number of activities, elevation gain, graph of the last 7 days, and progress toward your goal
- Strava activities: your latest activities, with a link to each
A few scene ideas
Make the living room blink when I beat a personal record
Receive a message « Congrats, 10.2 km in 52 min! » with every new run
An announcement on the day the weekly goal is reached
Installation
- Gladys 5.1 or newer is required.
- Install Strava from the integrations catalog.
- Create your Strava API application (free) on strava.com/settings/api, then paste its Client ID and Client Secret in the configuration.
- Click on Connect, authorize access, then add the device from the Discovery tab.
All steps are detailed in the documentation.
Gladys Plus Bonus: this is optional. With your Gladys Plus Open API key, your new activities arrive in a few seconds instead of waiting for the next refresh (every 15 minutes by default).
