Hi everyone!
For our German friends and cross-border commuters: the equivalent of the French « Prix carburants », from Tankerkönig, the open data of prices declared by German stations to the MTS-K.
What it does
- One device per station: Super E5, Super E10, and Diesel prices (€/L), open or closed.
- A « Cheapest nearby » device: for each fuel, the lowest price among your stations and the name of the station.
- Discovery: stations within a radius around the house (5 km by default, up to 25 km). The Find stations button finds more.
- Four scene triggers: price below a threshold (from 1.40 to 2.20 €/L), drop of at least 2, 3, 5, or 10 cents, cheapest station changed, station opened or closed.
- A scene action « Cheapest station nearby » and a widget « Fuel prices ».
The cool part
- Diesel drops below 1.60 € in the area → « Fill up now: 1.589 € at the station on Hauptstraße ».
- Before a long trip, the scene action gives the cheapest station and its address, to be sent to the phone.
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum. It will be available in the store at the next indexer run. In a hurry? - Request a free personal API key at https://onboarding.tankerkoenig.de/
- Paste it, choose your fuels and the radius, click on Test the API key.
- Accept access to the location of your houses, then go to the Discovery tab: add your stations and « Cheapest nearby ».
Honest small reservations
- Polite with Tankerkönig: the service limits to one request per minute and asks to avoid readings that the user did not request. Prices are read every 10 minutes (5 at minimum), 10 stations per request, and automatic readings are spaced one minute apart.
- Developed with the demo key, whose prices are fictional: feedback with a real key is welcome.
- In a price scene, you choose a station or « Cheapest nearby » (any of your stations): the scene never runs twice. Thresholds are a fixed list, because Gladys compares these fields exactly.
