Tuya module: mandatory connection to a third-party gateway?

Hello,

Not being much of a Zigbee expert, I have a question regarding Tuya-branded modules and/or devices. Is it necessary to connect to their platform / create an account on their cloud to be able to use such a device on our own Zigbee network?

For example, this device: GIRIER Tuya ZigBee 3.0 Smart Vorhangschaltermodul für Rollos, Rollladen, Elektromotor, 1/2 Gang, funktioniert mit Alexa Google Home - AliExpress 13, can I integrate it directly into my Zigbee network without having to go through any intermediary?
The fact that Gladys has a native Tuya integration makes me question this.

Thanks for your insights,

In Gladys, whether ZigBee, Tuya or not, use the ZigBee2MQTT integration.
The Tuya integration is for Tuya devices, mainly over Wi‑Fi.
Creating an account on Tuya is not necessary for ZigBee, nor is adding devices there.

I’d say exactly the same as GBoulvin: if you choose any Zigbee devices, there’s no need for the Tuya gateway; however, for the rest (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) you have to go through the Tuya cloud with Gladys.
