Silvercrest home automation bridge

Good evening,

I just found out that Lidl will offer next week for 19.99 a Zigbee 3.0 domotique gateway under the brand Silvercrest.
Do you know it? Has anyone already tested it with Gladys? I would be tempted to give it a try…

I tested the power outlets with Gladys.

Since it’s Zigbee, I don’t want to multiply gateways (Lidl, Ikea, Xiaomi…).

Here are the devices managed by zigbee2mqtt (be careful, Gladys does not manage everything naturally, sometimes you have to make a request to integrate the device but you see it in « Zigbee discovery » you will have a button suggest this device (redirect to the Gladys github, you just put a hello leaving the data that Gladys put and you send the request)).

As you can see, the gateway is not there.

If you already have a USB key to manage Zigbee, there’s no need to buy the home automation gateway. That’s the whole point, to avoid the manufacturers’ gateways (and prevent data from leaking onto the internet…).

Otherwise, @mikael is right, you need to check support for zigbee2mqtt.

Hello,

For the moment I don’t have much, that’s why I’m exploring all the leads.

I have Gladys, which I installed on a Ubuntu 21 PC, OpenWeather and Calendar, and Telegram.

No Zigbee key for the moment.

Now I’m trying to connect my weather station to Gladys, but during the installation Gladys MQTT was not installed. So, according to Pierre Gilles’ suggestion, I’m installing it manually and I’m now looking at how to interface it with Gladys (to have zigbeetomqtt in particular).

So my next purchase will be a key, but which one…

Thanks for your feedback.

We’re having trouble understanding each other. I didn’t recommend that you install it manually!

sorry,
indeed, it was a suggestion from another « forum » member

In Gladys settings, you can also choose which services to enable or disable. Have you checked that?

Yes, but apparently this is due to an incompatibility of my OS with some elements of the Gladys environment.

I’m on Ubuntu 21.10, which is a « test » release, I should be on 20.04 LTS.

So, to my dismay, I am in the process of downgrading my OS.

For the key, check what @pierre-gilles suggested in his video

Otherwise, there is the list of USB keys supported by zigbee2mqtt

You are mixing two subjects: MQTT integration (which can be manually configured) and Zigbee2MQTT integration, which is independent (and requires running in a Docker environment).

Recent versions of the OS make our way of detecting the Docker environment incompatible.

So you have only two solutions:

  • downgrade / use a compatible OS (Ubuntu LTS)
  • wait for the fix to be directly in Gladys.

Hello
The Lidl gateway is hackable, which makes it possible to do without Tuya’s servers.
