And a new episode of my « Gladys Assistant at your place » format, this time with @cicoub13, a user and historical contributor to the project since he partly coded the Zigbee2mqtt integration
And you won’t be disappointed, at his place it’s real Tony Stark!!
Gladys makes him coffee in the morning, warns him when there are traffic jams, turns off the lights when he leaves his home, I was amazed by his setup.
The video is available on Youtube here:
Thanks to @cicoub13 for your time this morning, it was great to chat with you, and happy birthday in advance!!
To answer one of the questions in the video, motion detectors send a "occupancy": false, after 90 seconds (default parameter, configurable in Zigbee2Mqtt).
You could add a movement condition when leaving the house to avoid turning off the light when your wife is present.
I would love to see N8N in a future integration just like the MQTT integration, with a one-click container installation. There is a feature request to be made here.
Please note that you have a scene category to explain your scenes and give ideas to other users.
You will need to contact domadoo to increase their stock of module for the linky.
The night light part is very interesting, but I don’t know how to apply it at home. My daughter moves a lot while sleeping, and I can’t see myself turning it on and risking waking her up .
Regarding the injection part, we have this feature that only concerns API requests.
I would rather say « like the node-red integration » but the idea is indeed good, everything that opens Gladys to the outside world and brings it universality is positive!
The motion sensor is placed in a spot where my daughter’s movements are not detected (it’s facing the door, to be precise).
So only my entrance into the room turns on the light
Indeed, it’s the same request but for the « control a device » block.
Well, from a development perspective, it’s always the same debate: when you make a larger request that groups several requests, it means that the request will take longer to be developed, and as a result, it makes the request less « easily doable, » it’s less incremental.
Well, in this case, I’m fine with it if it’s a single request
