Gladys crash

Hello,

I’ll start at the end and tell you right away that I managed to put everything back in place and everything is working again.

But I’ll still share the small feedback and, above all, the scare I had tonight.

I was trying to run some scene tests in Gladys, and of course I save, and then the save doesn’t complete and just spins indefinitely.
No access at all. Restarted the container several times, fully rebooted the Raspberry Pi, nothing worked…

I still went to look at the database directly in its configuration folder. I shut down the container again first because I think I read that the database is split into three parts when it’s running. And even stopped, the three parts were there.
I still tried the backup and deleted Gladys’s database on the Raspberry Pi.
I restarted and Gladys starts correctly, of course empty, so I told myself: « corrupted database ». Really unlucky.
It’s the first time this has happened to me.
Nothing to lose, I restored my backup — at least the most important part of the database — into Gladys’s configuration file.
I crossed my fingers and restarted the container. The seconds are relatively long in those conditions.

And then, miracle, everything started again.
I don’t really know what happened, but the main thing is that everything works again.
And above all, I’ll make backups more often.
I recommend it to you too; it can save you.

In any case, I’ll sleep much better tonight.

For that, remember to uncross your ears

Anyway, well done on getting your Gladys back to normal!

Annoying! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Good to hear it’s working again

What type of drive are you on? SD card or SSD?

I’m currently on an SSD.
