[Presentation] Mastho

Hello everyone,

To introduce myself briefly, I am 30 years old, I live in Tarn near Toulouse and I am a Mainframe system engineer. I have been following the Gladys project closely for a few years and I have started to equip myself gradually since buying my house.

I started with V3 a little over a year ago on a Pi 3B+ where I controlled my air conditioning via a Broadlink RM Mini 3 and Telegram messages.

I then migrated to V4 which I had not yet had time to test until now (Thanks to the lockdown). I have only connected two cameras that work quite well. These are ieGeek cameras found on Amazon with a good quality/price ratio. I recommend them to those looking to equip themselves and I can possibly help with the configuration.

I also bought a Xiaomi Gateway a few months ago with two humidity and temperature sensors but I never managed to make them visible to V4 by following the tutorial. Following a call with @pierre-gilles last week, he advised me to connect Gladys directly to the box rather than behind a CPL but without success after two days of testing. If any of you have suggestions for tests, I am interested :slight_smile:

Subsequently, I would like to connect my electric radiators which are currently controlled via an old thermostat as well as my roller shutters which I must automate soon.

I will try to be a bit more active on the forum in the future :sweat_smile: In any case, I thank @pierre-gilles and all the contributors for this great work and I hope I can contribute my stone to the building :grin:

Welcome @Mastho

What version of the gateway do you have? And on which server (Europe / China)?

On v2, there is a firmware bug, no broadcast possible, so no connection to put it simply (personal experience), we have already talked about it on the forum, I have to find the link for you.

Edit, here is the interesting topic on the HA community

So if you updated the gateway before enabling local control (in the Xiaomi app), you have a good chance of being in the same situation.

Thanks for your feedback @VonOx

I’m on V3 and on a Chinese server that I had set up as soon as I received the Gateway

I updated it right away as requested in the tutorial and I think I remember that the step was automatic… :relieved:

I followed your link and it talks about soldering :sweat_smile:
Wouldn’t it be simpler to order a new compatible Gateway?

In fact, you need to check if port 9898 of the gateway is open, the soldering is the hack to open the port if it is closed.

If it is closed for you, well you have the bug :sweat_smile:

Personally, I did without the gateway (I didn’t manage the hack :roll_eyes:), I migrated everything to zigbee2mqtt

@VonOx

Except for the Bluetooth temperature and humidity sensors, they look great in my home…

Bah Bluetooth what! :smiley:

Did I miss something on Gladys 4?

There’s nothing, they’re just decorating because they’re on BT :sweat_smile:

I just checked the open ports on the Gateway and 9898 is closed :relieved:

So I’ll follow @Jean34’s lead and leave my sensors in standby mode :grin:

Thanks for your help @VonOx

@Mastho Have you seen this:

Thanks for the info @pierre-gilles! I’ll test it as soon as possible and I’ll give feedback on the forum :wink:
