Brightness issue with Zibgee connected bulb

Hello,

I have a smart bulb that worked correctly at first, of course.

Afterwards, turning it on works, but it automatically sets the brightness to zero at every startup. So it’s a bit hard to see clearly.

I’m completely stumped. Is there a way to reset it?

Thank you very much for your help

hi @dahut
it’s going to be difficult to help you with so little information :frowning:

Could you provide us:

  • brand and model of your bulb
  • a screenshot of zigbee2mqtt (if you’re indeed using that) of the config and command exposure
  • a screenshot of your bulb in Gladys’ z2m integration

Other points:

  • do you have a scene that would set this bulb’s brightness to 0?
  • how do you turn your bulb on/off via Gladys?
  • have you tried turning it on/off via zigbee2mqtt directly?

That should already help us a bit.

Thanks, that’s not entirely false…

The bulb brand: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/TS0505B_1_1.html#tuya-ts0505b_1_1

  • I don’t have any Gladys scene that sets the brightness to zero
  • I simply turn it on with an on/off button on the dashboard or via a PIR sensor that triggers that switch
  • And via zigbee2mqtt, it’s the same

As soon as I turn it on in zigbee2mqtt, the brightness therefore goes to zero and I have to manually increase the brightness for it to turn on.

And in Gladys, I have to adjust the brightness slider to make it work.

On top of that, it has lost its pairing twice.

This behavior started only a week ago because before that, it worked pretty well

I hope I’m a bit clearer

Maybe set the behavior when powered to previous?

Unfortunately, I’ve already tried that and it doesn’t change its behavior.

I feel like the bulb is dead :worried:
If it’s still under warranty I recommend asking for an exchange or a refund.
If not, then you should create a scene that fixes the issue automatically.

Thanks for your reply, that was my biggest doubt.

Given the price I paid for it on a small “Chinese site”, I’m not going to bother having it replaced.

I’ve just created scenes that turn on when brightness increases, and we’ll see.
