Problem installing DEV environment

I’m asking for a bit of help because I want to start looking into developing for Gladys and therefore install the DEV environment.

I’m following the docs on the site Mettre en place un environnement de développement sous Windows | Gladys Assistant

However I’m encountering errors when installing the backend during the « npm install »

Here is the error:

I checked directly in the files and the folder /root/gladys/server/node_modules/ssh2/ does not exist. (I restarted several times from scratch but it’s the same)

Is there a problem with the install script?

Strange that you’re root; normally under WSL you create a user.
In any case, that’s the cause of your problem

I’m root because I always prefer to work as root :slight_smile:

New PC, I revisited the problem I had setting up a

I reinstalled the environment 2-3 times :

  • After the git clone, make sure to set the folder owner to your user for the « gladys » folder (Do not use a different folder name than « gladys », otherwise some files are still created in the gladys folder and the instance cannot run)

chown -R user gladys

For the server side :

  • Make yourself owner of the node_modules folder
    chown -R user:user

It’s installing your packages with sudo that breaks everything. I’ll review the tutorial because these steps are obviously a workaround.
