EDF Box Tempo integration proposal

Hello everyone,

Following the integration of the ecowatt box by @pierre-gilles in V4.13, I propose to add in the same spirit a box for the EDF « Tempo » contracts (regulated tariff).

There is an integration tutorial with Node-RED written by @laguiche on the forum: Couleur EDF TEMPO dans Node Red

Here are the tariff grids for the 3 contracts under the regulated tariff: https://particulier.edf.fr/content/dam/2-Actifs/Documents/Offres/Grille_prix_Tarif_Bleu.pdf

So Tempo is an off-peak (22:00 - 06:00)/peak (06:00 - 22:00) rate whose price depends on the color of the day: Blue (300 days), White (45 days) and Red (22 days).
The Tempo year starts on September 1 and runs until August 31. The Tempo day starts on date n at 06:00 and ends on date n+1 at 05:59. The color for day n+1 is provided by RTE around 10:30 on day n.

There is an RTE API that allows retrieving the color for day n+1 but also the colors of days since 01/09/2014: Catalogue API - API Data RTE

In my opinion, this tariff can enable substantial savings if the home is equipped with a second energy source capable, in particular, of heating the home during the 16 hours of the 22 red days. And obviously, with scene automation using Gladys, it might be worth the effort!

In my view the most important information is the color for day n+1 and being able to use it in scenes, plus possibly having a count of days of each color for the Tempo year.

It’s just an idea that may not add any value to the project; integration via Node-RED may be sufficient!

Is there an expiration date on feature requests (I see that this one is a year old), or if it gets enough votes can it still be taken into account?

No expiration date (unless it’s no longer relevant, such as a service that no longer exists). You can vote

@Fabic, @bab85

Starting from his tutorial, I created one that allowed retrieving these values in Gladys; it might suit you while waiting for a developer to implement it

Thanks @cce66. For the moment I haven’t started with Node-RED, but I’ll keep the info for when the time comes.

By following their tutorials, you’ll want to get started during the :santa: periods

I had a few issues this week with EDF’s TEMPO API. It was returning XML instead of JSON.
It’s working again as of today!

Hi @Fabic

I don’t know if you’ve seen, Gladys Assistant 4.39 includes an EDF Tempo box

Is it OK with you if I close this request?

@pierre-gilles, Thank you very much for this integration that I was particularly looking forward to in Gladys.
I haven’t tested it yet. I’ll leave comments if needed.
You can close it!
