Scenes with conditions

Hello, I was going to make an enhancement request, but since it also concerns the trigger, I’m posting it below.

I installed the « MORAY – Water level sensor » on the silo of my pellet boiler, and it works very well.

Refilling of my silo occurs when the level is low. This can happen at any time, and since it makes a lot of noise, I schedule it to happen at 10 h.

Would it be possible to add the following options in the trigger:

- scheduled trigger at xx h xx

  • scheduled trigger window xx h xx to xx h xx.

It is entirely possible to integrate time conditions in the scene, but it seems to me that it would be more appropriate to include them in the trigger.
Thank you.

Hi @bjm,

I’ve moved your post into another topic to keep discussions separate :slightly_smiling_face:

Your approach is correct :+1:

A scene in Gladys can be composed of 3 types of blocks:

  • Trigger (an event)
  • Conditions
  • Actions

In your case, you can approach it in two ways:

  1. Trigger : « If the level is low »
    Condition : « If it’s between 10:00 and 18:00 »
    Action : Refill the silo
  2. Trigger : « Every day at 10:00 »
Condition : « If the level is low »
    Action : Refill the silo

Both approaches are valid; it’s mostly a question of which makes the most sense for your scenario :slightly_smiling_face:
