I can’t figure out how to use it! I tried with the URL of photos on Drive, but I get an error
Where should I put my photos?
The URL you put in the widget must be a URL of an image accessible by Gladys.
Example of a valid URL:

It can be an image on a local NAS, for example

The issue comes from Google Drive. When you share a photo, Drive doesn’t provide a direct link to the image, but a web page containing the photo, menus, and various buttons. However, Gladys needs a URL that directly points to the image file.
You can do a very simple test: open your link in a new tab.
- If you see only the photo, without any interface around it:
it will work with Gladys. - If you see a Google Drive page with menus and buttons:
it won’t work.
Today, you have several options:
- Host your photos on a service that allows sharing images via a direct URL.
- Use a NAS (Synology, QNAP, or any other home file server).
- Install an open-source photo management solution, like Immich, directly on your Beelink. It works very well for managing a photo library, but it requires some command-line operations. I haven’t tested it with this widget, so I can’t guarantee it will be compatible.
If none of these solutions suit you, I think the simplest thing is to wait a bit. During the development of this widget, we actually discussed the possibility of creating external integrations capable of providing photos to the widget. In the long run, this will probably be the simplest and most accessible solution for everyone, with dedicated integrations for Google Photos, Immich, Synology Photos, etc.
