Adding Tuya sensors

Hello,

I plan to set up home automation for my mother’s house via my Raspberry Pi that is at my place.
I looked for a kind of Zigbee Wi-Fi gateway and found one from Tuya.
I’m encountering a blockage with Gladys, which, as far as I know, doesn’t recognize any Tuya sensors (Wi-Fi or Zigbee).
See Photo :

Here is my project :

In principle it works; it’s Gladys that seems to be blocking.
Even through the Zigbee gateway, it doesn’t work.
There are also Wi-Fi temperature sensors, but they are not recognized by Gladys either.
See 1st image.

Anyway, I hope to get your feedback.
For information, I already have the gateways and the Zigbee sensors.

If anyone knows a procedure I should follow to do this.

Thank you very much

I don’t know Tuya but did you

Hi, @McFlyPartages

The switches and actuators work.

  • Circuit breakers (Wi‑Fi) recognized, consumption readings OK, but I can’t turn them on and off from Gladys. I created a virtual switch on Tuya.

Do they work from the Tuya app?

Only from Gladys or from Tuya as well?

It’s not working from Gladys.

In fact, to explain, you register your devices on Tuya, and they appear on Gladys.

And some devices appear as not supported on Gladys.
But from the Tuya app they work anyway.

Device OK

Device Not OK

Yes, so this still needs to be confirmed, but if it’s like Z2MQTT, the devs will need to add the unsupported devices to Gladys. And since Tuya has a whole bunch of sensors of every kind, there’s a lot of work hihihi.

I can’t help you any further; you’ll have to wait for a dev to confirm or verify what I said.

That’s why I chose Tuya.
It’s to tinker with sensors of all kinds.
Starting with the circuit breakers that I use as switches for my heaters.

But if I had a procedure for adding them, I could develop the sensors I use and others.

Check the updates to see if there have been any recent additions; you might see how they did it.

Everyone has their own view

If you want, @pierre-gilles has done live coding sessions if you know how to code in JS.
The docs also explain how to set up the dev environment.

The Tuya integration was developed by @Lokkye; you can draw inspiration from the sensors

Hi @Kalvin!

Indeed, for now these devices are not managed by Gladys; each device must be added manually.

Historically it was @Lokkye who developed this integration, but he hasn’t been active in recent months.

Besides, it doesn’t look very complicated to add these devices; we can indeed take inspiration from the PRs made on the Gladys GitHub, for example:

@Kalvin If you want to help us and add these devices to Gladys, we’d be happy! I can help you set up your development environment if you run into any problems.

We have a tutorial that explains how to get started:

It contains everything: installation tutorial for Windows/macOS/Linux.

I can also help, either via messages on the forum or by having a call if you prefer to discuss it.

Let me know.

Hello,

Thank you very much, I will look into it in the coming weeks

Ok, don’t hesitate at all if you want us to do this in pair programming mode at some point
