Tag improvements

Hello !
First of all

+1 for alphabetical sorting

Edit: And I’d also add the ability to delete/edit a tag and add a « deselect all Â» button

I think a tag that has 0 uses should be automatically deleted, shouldn’t it?

I mostly agree.

Also, what would be nice in the long run is that once we’ve selected one or more tags, we have a button to activate / deactivate the matching scenes.

I’m thinking of my pool, which requires several scenes, but which I don’t use all year. I’d like to be able to perform an action on all the pool-management scenes at once; it would be much more convenient.

Absolutely!

Another thing: if I select 2 tags (alarm, presence)
I would have preferred to have only the scenes that match both tags and not the scene that matches just one of the two tags.

Is

I agree with @spenceur, it allows for much more effective filtering.

Totally, that’s a good idea

I told you we’d get the reaction @Lokkye :joy:

That’s already the case; a tag with zero uses doesn’t exist

Feature request (bulk actions on the scene list)

I was the one who asked for an « OR Â» because I’d tested various software and generally it was an OR that was used.

Is there a consensus here that it should be an AND instead?

That works for the feature request.

I agree more with AND for multi-tags. It seems more logical to me personally.

I will make the requests tonight!

Yes, one will be simpler

@Lokkye Can you take care of the various feedback?

Yes yes  I’m on it

Sorry for the « OR/AND Â», I was the one who thought it would be better as OR and apparently people don’t like it :joy:

@Lokkye, I’m creating requests for the sorting and the badge that counts the number of scenes?

Personally, I think OR is more appropriate

However, I noticed a bug: if I click and unclick Vacuum several times, I end up with this:

That the Vacuum scene is active even though nothing is checked anymore

Can you explain why so we can understand your point of view?

From my point of view, you do the « or Â» by clicking on a tag, then unchecking it and clicking another.

However, there’s no way to do the « and Â» in the case where you want to find your four scenes that do Sonos, alarm, light, etc. all at once (that’s an example from my setup).

Currently I was tagging them in the title "security

So, summary of fixes or improvements:

  • Sort the list of tags alphabetically
  • Add badge with the number of scenes
  • Add a button to deselect all
  • Change OR to AND in the filter
  • Bug « tag hammering Â» (« martelage des tags Â»)

For now, I’ve only done the first three, here’s the result:

Here’s the PR with all the fixes:

Uh I don’t know, probably, but we need to see how it was done in the mqtt service

Hi @Lokkye,

First of all, a huge thank you for this development!! It’s simply magical, I think that for the past year it was the one essential missing feature for me!! Too many scenes
it was unmanageable ^^ I feel reborn.

@spenceur in this case I’m the one who doesn’t understand this request for â€č AND â€ș. On the contrary I understand @pierre-gilles’ original request for â€č OR â€ș which, to me, makes more sense as a default. It’s the whole power of what @Lokkye has developed. The tag itself serves directly as both â€č AND â€ș and â€č OR â€ș

Concrete example: I want to see my scenes managing â€č HP â€ș — I check HP; I want to see only my HC — I uncheck HP and check HC. Finally, I want to see my HP and HC — I check both.

Then if I want to see my water heaters (cumulus) and my dryers, with an OR it’s possible whereas with an AND it’s impossible — I could never. If I want to do an AND I just need to group into a single tag the devices that should be shown alone (in your example â€č security â€ș). If you hide it you’ll only have those devices.
The â€č OR â€ș allows this visual mix and from my point of view is more obvious. The tag allows grouping by family and thus in itself to do this â€č AND â€ș

Finally, the â€č OR â€ș is perfectly achievable in the same way. In my first example, with a tag â€č Gestion HC/HP â€ș it can group them. But in my opinion
^^
it makes less sense. Opinions can differ depending on everyone’s needs ^^

Thanks for your feedback, I found that instructive.

So if I understand correctly, we’d have to create an intermediate tag hc/hp just for x scenes?
Are we going to end up with 1 million « unique Â» tags just for that?!
I don’t think that’s viable in my case.

I think we won’t agree on our usage haha.

Let’s see what @b3n.0, @guim31 and the others think ^^
