Sonoff Button: Some responsiveness issues

I bought a Sonoff button so my 3-year-old daughter can turn the lights on at night.
The integration and the scene are fine. But in real life it’s complicated. Indeed, sometimes the light turns on instantly and sometimes it takes 4 to 5 seconds (which leads to my daughter pressing multiple times and triggering the associated actions).
How can I find out where this delay is coming from?

Does the button control connected switches or connected bulbs?
Because at my place I’ve always found the bulbs quite temperamental… Sometimes they take more than 5 seconds to respond, sometimes it’s instantaneous.

@spenceur is it a Sonoff Wi‑Fi or Zigbee button?

If it’s Zigbee, look at the map of your Zigbee network in Zigbee2mqtt and try to see if the message is (by any chance) being routed through a very distant node

Otherwise, it could be interference from Wi‑Fi on your Zigbee network

This post can help you:

Hello to both of you,
The button controls a Sonoff Zigbee Mini L2.

I’ll analyze the network and check that.

And is the button itself a Zigbee device?

Yes, sorry, I didn’t specify — it’s the snzb 01p,

Ok, in that case check the button and the Sonoff Zigbee Mini L2; the problem may be either the button → Zigbee2mqtt communication, or the Zigbee2mqtt → Switch communication

How can you see that?

Personally I have a second one that turns my workstation on or off via

First, check the map of your network on Zigbee2mqtt

Then the link I posted above!

For my part I avoid buying Sonoff when possible.
Too many issues regarding responsiveness, temperature sensor pairing that only holds for one hour (well, I got them for free), loss of pairing twice a year for the ZBMINI-L — the Zigbee repeater function is very weak (I put my plugs in the drawer).
For the button I replaced it with https://www.domadoo.fr/fr/domotique/5785-moes-interrupteur-intelligent-sans-fil-zigbee-1-bouton.html which is instantaneous; plus a small green indicator lights up when you press it.

I’m very surprised by this feedback on my part. I have 5 Sonoff temperature sensors for 2 years, I haven’t changed the batteries and yet I can clearly see the temperatures varying ^^.
Same here, I have 2 buttons that are OK as well (for info I no longer have issues, I restarted
