Dongle change

Good evening everyone,

Not having found the topic discussed on the forum, I’m taking the liberty of asking this question here.

With Ember, the Sonoff dongle P (update applied) is not supported and so I would like to switch to the E. Is it complicated to change the dongle or simple?

Is it enough to select the port, then the dongle, and save?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

That’s the idea. If I’m not mistaken, the ideal is to disable the service, change the dongle, update the config and reactivate the service!

Thank you very much, I didn’t disable the service earlier and it gave me an error code, but now I understand why!

Warning — migrating from one Zigbee dongle to another may require a complete re-pairing of all devices. This is not always required; it depends on the migration.

Thanks for the information, but your text is much more complex for me. In any case, I only have two devices plugged in at the moment, so even if I pair them again, it’s not important given how few devices are currently connected.

Good evening,

Can someone point me to the procedure to follow, please?

For information, the dongle’s firmware is up to date.

I’m watching tonight

Thank you very much

If you don’t have any paired devices (I get the impression this is a fresh installation), you can safely delete the « backup » created when you used the old dongle

  • Disable the Zigbee2MQTT service

J’en ai que deux donc pas de problème.

Ça aucun problème je peux !

Comment on fait ça ? C’est un mini PC du kit de démarrage ?

I sent you a private message

@cicoub13 I wonder if it would be worth having a reset button for the Zigbee2mqtt integration for this kind of case! It’s a common topic on the forum

Of course, with a red confirmation: « Warning, resetting the integration will delete all Zigbee2mqtt-related files on disk and all devices currently paired to Zigbee2mqtt will need to be re-paired, etc. »

What do you think?

I would have preferred that we handle the cases automatically, but the variety of scenarios scares me a bit. So this button is easy to implement and can help people avoid using SSH.

The explanation needs to be very clear. I’m submitting a feature request to write the specifications before I get started on this.

@G_rom0304 I worked on the issue this morning:

I’m going to publish a new version of Gladys this afternoon!

Thank you for your patience :folded_hands:
