[HEATING] thermostatic head

Hello everyone

I have a central heating system with thermostatic valves, a Gladys instance and a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus.

I was thinking of getting Zigbee2mqtt connected valves, but it’s a bit of a jungle.

Does anyone have any experience to share on this subject?
Can I, for example, get this — in that bundle there is a hub… is it mandatory or can Gladys handle it?

Thanks in advance

@lmilcent I think

Great, thanks a lot, that’s exactly what I wanted in terms of advice and value for money

We’re good here…

I think other brands make nicer, sturdier ones, but they often don’t include Zigbee and that means you have to send everything over the internet.
This model works pretty well overall, isn’t too expensive and is 100% Zigbee!

Okay, it’s ordered and received. However, I’m struggling with the adapter rings…

@lmilcent, if you can tell me how you did with the adapters… because I’m really struggling
I have Compad thermostatic heads, and despite a ring with that name in the bag, I’m stuck with

Okay, let’s talk Gladys
in the logs, I see this…

Do I need to do anything?
Have a good day

I had Danfoss ones and the adapter ring wedges itself on the pipe instead of the head, not very deep.
At first I even thought it was barely on.

Otherwise Gladys doesn’t support the heads yet, it’s a work in progress, and @pierre-gilles laid the foundations this week.

For now I manage them via the Zig

Ok, thanks for the answers, we’ll see about the adapter rings later… my plumber is coming at the end of the week

So that I understand well what you just said about these heads and their integration into Gladys… the device is recognized and connected to Gladys… it does see things, in my case: battery, temperature, access control, switch and switch.

In my case, if I put everything in a dashboard and I set both switches to on or to off, will that cause the little piston to move in/out and let water through or not in my radiators?

I don’t have the impression that this is the case…
Good evening
Olivier

I confirm everything you said. We can see some features, but the switches are useless, they’re not functional.

Ah, well ok, because yesterday I was at my wit’s end with this story…between the adapter rings and the malfunctions in Gladys…

so my switches

are actually

But the valve is not a switch…

Can’t we interact with the valve?

Have a good day
Olivier

I confirm everything in your message. Gladys doesn’t yet support heating control, nor the connected head.

It’s exactly the same for me. But the programming part of the head via the zigbee2mqtt interface is sufficient for my use. Don’t forget

I should add that heating management in Gladys is currently being developed in Gladys, but not yet actually available

To follow the development:

For now development is in the MQTT integration; it will come later to the Zigbee integration

Well, if I believe the announcements, I won’t have had to wait long… hats off!
