Hello,
If you want to do this on an existing light I use this module instead of the switch:
I cover it with this:
And I put an Ikea remote like this stuck on top of it:
If you want to use a connected bulb, therefore replacing the existing one, you can use an Ikea bulb like this:
You remove the switch and use Wago connectors, making sure to respect the electrical connections and working with the circuit breaker turned off ![]()
And then the same for the rest, I cover it with this:
And I put an Ikea remote like this stuck on top of it:
All managed in Gladys scenes ![]()
Thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately, this won’t work as is, because I don’t have a switch at the moment. There is only a lamp equipped with a motion detector, but it does not cover the whole area, particularly the bottom of the staircase.
That is precisely why I want to add two battery-powered motion detectors to ensure complete coverage.
In any case you’ll have to home-automate your lamp to make it compatible with Gladys, unless the protocol used by the sensor and the current lamp is already compatible ![]()
I found this model that seems suitable :
SONOFF SNZB-03 / SNZB-03P – Zigbee motion sensor with ambient light detection, compatible with Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, MQTT and SmartThings.
However, I don’t yet know what to use to control the lamp.
I’m torn between two options :
So I found this: SONOFF - Zigbee switch module 10A ZBMINIR2
Can I put it behind the ceiling lamp ?

Hello @Prof_Techno
Here is what I set up at home :
Once the equipment is in place, a scene in Gladys takes care of controlling the light from the moment it gets dark in the stairwell (adjustable threshold, which I have set at 600lx): the sensor detects movement AND the light level.
Have a nice day,
Jean
