Communication: we need to talk about the project 😄

An idea like that: contact Diamond Publishing for an article in Linux Magazine or elsewhere. As far as I remember, they are interested, especially if you are a freelancer.

Ok! Does this magazine have a lot of audience?

Honestly, appearing in a magazine where I have to do all the writing work takes a lot of time, I don’t know if I would do it again unless there is a really big impact

At the beginning of January, writing the article in « Programmez Â» took me two Gladys development sprints.

I couldn’t say if there is a large audience. Indeed, ROI may be a bit low in this case.

I don’t know if you’re aware, but Micode has launched a podcast over the past few weeks. And the latest one features the Poulain brothers and talks about home automation. And in the podcast, Gladys is mentioned several times alongside Domotics and HA.

Edit: the name of the podcast is underscore_

Oh dear! Do you have a link to the podcast?

I listen to it on Spotify, but I found a clip on YouTube https://youtu.be/wsbUuTGxJ0M

They do live streams on Twitch every Wednesday and I bombard them with questions to find out what they think of Gladys.
Over time, it’s working. Gladys has been mentioned several times.

I listened to the entire podcast on YouTube, I didn’t hear aha, I think it was a shortened version :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@Tlse-vins ah yes well played :folded_hands::flexed_biceps:t2:

Yes, in total it’s just under 2 hours for the podcast.

By the way, I recommend it to you, it’s a very good popularization of many subjects.

Same, he’s live on Twitch on Wednesday evenings, it’s hard to do both live streams at the same time!

In the comments (Verified review) of items purchased for Gladys, feel free to write « works very well with gladysassistant Â».

I can’t find the newsletter sign-up.

@McFlyPartages Thanks for the feedback, the signup is indeed no longer on the homepage :fearful:

I forgot to add it back after the last redesign on the

That reassures me because I’ve looked everywhere loo

Doing it again

Hello everyone,

DietPi lightweight version for Raspberry Pi:

I don’t know if @pierre-gilles or others know this site and system but since the forum is purely anglophone I’ll leave it to others to see if it’s possible to have Gladys added to their list of supported software; there is already Home Assistant, OpenHAB, Domoticz among others

there’s even a VM available here (for VirtualBox too)

Well spotted!

I used DietPi for a while on a Raspberry Pi 3 at home, it works really well

I didn’t know DietPi, thanks for the discovery.

Yes the very well-known Korben (well, one of the older ones!) wrote an article recently, I had set it up back in the day on a Pi 3B+
and put Gladys on it then moved to a NUC, I think I’m going to reinstall DietPi on my NUC to see!!!

https://korben.info/dietpi-debian-ultra-legere-optimisee-raspberry-pi-odroid-pine64.html

There is a fairly complete install doc here and despite its name it can also be installed on a NUC!

@Goulby : That’s mainly the reason I’m switching back from Home Assistant (HA) to Gladys
HA does a lot of very handy things (LiveBox info and Google IoT, for example), but it’s quickly complicated to set up in scenes and, above all, the graphical side, which is discouraging as soon as you have to start doing « custom Â» to get something that looks nice
