New Gladys release today with a new integration: Google Cast!
If you have Google devices compatible with the Google Cast protocol:
- Google Nest Mini
- Google Nest Audio
- Google Pixel Tablet
- … And many other devices

You can discover these devices on the local network:
Add them to Gladys, and use these speakers in scenes to speak through them:

For now, this feature uses a paid « Text to Speech » API, which works thanks to artificial intelligence. That’s what enables this smooth, pleasant-to-hear, non-robotic voice.
Therefore, this feature is only available through Gladys Plus.
The day high-quality voices like these exist purely locally, I would be very happy to add them to Gladys, but unfortunately that’s not the case in French today. I’m keeping an eye on open-source projects working on these topics ![]()

How to update?
If you installed Gladys with the official Raspberry Pi OS image, your instances will update automatically within the next few hours. This may take up to 24h, don’t panic.
If you installed Gladys with Docker, make sure you are using Watchtower (See the documentation)
