Gladys Assistant v4.8.4 is available with numerous fixes!

Hello everyone,

I’m happy to release today Gladys Assistant 4.8.4, an update that brings improvements in every way

  • At the Zigbee level, this PR adds support for many additional devices, thanks to the work of @AlexTrovato (#1383)
  • Added many units and device types in Gladys (Currencies, speed, pressure, and much more!!) Thanks @VonOx ( #1479)
  • Synchronization with Caldav calendars is more robust, thanks @bertrandda ( #1471)
  • When the user’s browser is behind the Gladys instance time, Gladys will no longer display a few seconds « in the future » offset on the interface, which was confusing (#1466)
  • Updated many dependencies ( #1488 and #1488 )

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release

The full CHANGELOG is available here.

How to update?

If you installed Gladys with the official Raspberry Pi OS image, your instances will update automatically in the coming hours. This can take up to 24h, don’t panic.

If you installed Gladys with Docker, make sure you are using Watchtower (See the documentation )

Good evening,
Following Gladys version 4.8.4, this device Xiaomi LLKZMK11LM (double relay) is now recognized in Gladys.
I’ll be able to add it to Airtable
Kudos to the devs
thanks :+1:

Hello everyone!
I’m writing here because there’s some activity and I think my post might be moved to the right place  !
With the idea of tutorials it could be cool to offer a « makers » section! For example, at the company where I work we set up a blog to talk tech and I wrote an article about creating your own temperature sensor that communicates over MQTT, notably with Gladys

I don’t know what we can do with it! If you think it’s lame tell me and I’ll delete this post and we won’t talk about it anymore!
If it’s a good idea we set up I don’t know what for tinkerers?

Thanks for your attention

Be careful, you shouldn’t have too many subcategories within categories.
Your topic belongs in the Tutorial section.

A post on your Blog about Gladys would also be very welcome.

Hello @Tlse-vins
I think splitting the category into two sections would be clearer, one « simple device installation with existing sensors » and the other, « Maker (or ‹ build your own sensor ›) », for the kings (or not) of the

That’s why I was asking!
The tutorials are relatively accessible and I was worried that the makers side would muddle that a bit and scare some people.
As for the article on Gladys, it’s obviously in my drafts but I’ve got too many irons in the fire

I agree, the number of categories shouldn’t be too large; in my opinion we already almost have too many!!

In Tutorials it’s fine, and I disagree, most of the tutorials in that category are already somewhat maker-style tutorials, that’s the forum’s purpose. The « general public » tutorials are in the docs

We can add a tag if needed.
