Hi everyone!

Blink (Amazon) cameras are among the best-selling, battery-powered and wireless ones. After Ring and EZVIZ, they are now available in Gladys.

What it does

  • One device per system (Sync Module): arming, Sync Module online.
  • One device per camera or doorbell (Outdoor 4, Mini, Video Doorbell…): the last image, motion detected, detection enabled, temperature, low battery, Wi-Fi signal, doorbell.
  • Two triggers: « Motion detected » and « Doorbell pressed ».
  • Scene actions to arm or disarm, adjust detection, take a new image.
  • A widget with the images, arming status and Arm, Disarm (with confirmation) and New Image buttons.
  • In French, English, German and Spanish.

No photo is taken automatically: on a battery-powered camera, each capture uses the battery. A new image only comes from an action of yours. And arming is not a switch: a « turn everything off » to Google or Alexa will not disarm your cameras.

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.2 minimum.

  1. Enter the Blink email and password, save.
  2. Blink sends a code by email or SMS: enter it with the action « Enter the code ».
  3. Discovery tab: add your devices.

Honest small reservations

  • Cloud only: motion and doorbell arrive with the chosen relay delay (1 minute by default), Blink does not notify third-party applications.
  • No live video, only thumbnails.
  • Developed without a Blink camera. I verified from my home the real Blink connection up to the refusal of a fake account (and corrected in passing a step that Blink does differently than expected), but the press on the doorbell remains to be confirmed on a real doorbell: your feedback is precious.
